Attending and graduating college is significant to my family (or in light of my background) because … as the oldest of three brothers, it’s important that I set a good example and do the right things. It’s significant that I’ll graduate on time and can hopefully help influence more students in my hometown to attend college in the future.

The reason I chose the University of Oregon for my education is … I grew up a Duck fan and couldn’t see myself rooting for another school. The success of the athletic teams played a huge role and was more important than academics when I decided to come here. I wanted to go to a public university on the West Coast which was large enough that not every student would know who I was, since that wasn’t the case at my high school.

The most rewarding experience/challenge I’ve had while earning my degree was … living near campus and meeting so many interesting, friendly people. Also, camping overnight for football tickets during fall term of 2007 is something I’ll never forget.

My proudest accomplishment while at the UO is … getting to work at the Ryder Cup in 2008 as part of a summer internship I received through the Warsaw Sports Business Club. Earning an A in Fred Hervert’s business calculus class was my proudest academic achievement.

While pursuing my degree I was most inspired by … friends, parents and a number of influential instructors. Specifically, my parents, David and Jean; my brothers, Eric and Nolan; and sports business instructor Whitney Wagoner have all been inspirational.

My UO degree is valuable because … the University is recognized nationally and, no matter where I want to work, people will have heard of the University of Oregon.

After graduation, I plan to use my degree from the UO to … work for a consumer products company and eventually start my own business.
